So this last bunch of photos I've posted is from geocaching walks I've done in and around Uppsala.
You can find them on the City Landscape and Urban Countryside pages.
My blog
I'm a geocacher, a hobby which takes me to places I wouldn't normally go and most of the time there's something there worth taking photos of. So this last bunch of photos I've posted is from geocaching walks I've done in and around Uppsala. You can find them on the City Landscape and Urban Countryside pages.

I'm gonna come clean; until today I thought Hedi Slimane's was Heidi Slimane, a 20-something woman living in Los Angeles, hanging out with a hip crowd of young 20-somethings, because that is the story I read into his photos. But I wasn't entirely off since he does live in Los Angeles and have been taking portraits of the young Hollywood crowd. Still is from what I understand. What lead me to Hedi's photography was this portrait of Frances Bean Cobain. There's a series of portraits and they're all stunning but this one is my favorite because of the opposites in it; black and white, strength and vulnerability, soft and hard. What brings me back to his site is his portraits, how natural they seem, flawless but still grungy, If you want to see more of Hedi's photography you should check out his own website, hedislimane.com. So I figured since I'm not taking any photos myself at the moment (except for that assignment at work) I figured I would recommend some of the sites and photographers I go to for inspiration.
The latest addition to my computers bookmarks and my must-check-list is Daniel (DJ-Ingen) Wallenberg. His photos seems connected although they are taken at different places in the world and I believe that comes from having a natural focus as a photographer. I especially appreciate the light in his photos, I'm constantly trying to figure out how he does it but always end up lost and mesmerized instead. Another favorite for me to visit is Jonas Peterson's site. He's a Swedish photographer now living in Australia and his specialty is wedding photos. But don't expect the traditional, stiff wedding photos, this is wedding photos de luxe. Always with a hint of magic and always with a lot of heart. If I ever were to marry I would definitely want Jonas to be there with his camera. That should keep you busy until I get back from London in a week. Hopefully my camera will be filled with photos to share! And if you have a site or a photographer you'd like to recommend to me, feel free to do so. I'm always on the prowl for new inspiration. |
