The weekend cemented my love for photographing in cities and I do feel more inspired than I have in a long time. I've got a list of future sessions in my own hometown dotted down and I think I'll get going on that list next weekend. So here's to future escapades and discoveries!
The last batch of photos from London is posted. There might be more coming since I took over 400 photos over the weekend but for now this is it. As usual you can find them under the City Landscape page.

Some of you may have noticed I've posted photos from London but fear not, there will be more!
The first batch of photos (posted on the City Landscape page) is random photos taken all around London. I will post another batch och photos from the British Museum the next couple of days and a third batch if photos from the Brick Lane area during the weekend. Hope you'll enjoy them! I'm finally on my way, camera secure in my bag. Hopefully you'll have a lot of new photos to discover here next week.
Have a great weekend! So I figured since I'm not taking any photos myself at the moment (except for that assignment at work) I figured I would recommend some of the sites and photographers I go to for inspiration.
The latest addition to my computers bookmarks and my must-check-list is Daniel (DJ-Ingen) Wallenberg. His photos seems connected although they are taken at different places in the world and I believe that comes from having a natural focus as a photographer. I especially appreciate the light in his photos, I'm constantly trying to figure out how he does it but always end up lost and mesmerized instead. Another favorite for me to visit is Jonas Peterson's site. He's a Swedish photographer now living in Australia and his specialty is wedding photos. But don't expect the traditional, stiff wedding photos, this is wedding photos de luxe. Always with a hint of magic and always with a lot of heart. If I ever were to marry I would definitely want Jonas to be there with his camera. That should keep you busy until I get back from London in a week. Hopefully my camera will be filled with photos to share! And if you have a site or a photographer you'd like to recommend to me, feel free to do so. I'm always on the prowl for new inspiration. I've been sick for the last week and on top of that I left the camera at work so I figured I would give you another insight into one of my photos. The picture above is named Sidekick because that's how I think about my shoes. They're there to protect my feet from the ground I'm walking on but they also add some fun into my life. I love all kind of shoes, especially high heels holds a certain place in my heart and if I were able to wear them I would probably battle Carrie from Sex and the City in number of shoes. But as it is my feet are not meant to wear that kind of shoes so I've settled for the next best thing: Converses. They're not the comfiest of shoes but the way they look makes up for that. There's something timeless about the All Star design, they have become a classic and they look great in photographs. The photo above is named My Same Old, Same Old Friend, a line taken from a Pearl Jam song. These were my first pair of Converses and I wore them until they literally fell apart, they were indeed old friends. This photo was taken right before I threw them away and I still miss them dearly. So much that I made a huge print out of this photo and it is now hanging in my hallway.
For me my shoes become more then just an article of clothing, they become companions, friends who come with me on every adventure I'm going to and thereby becomes a part of the memory of that adventure. |
