My blog
I could blame this freak heat wave we're having, the fact that my vacation's over or that my old laptop is on strike regarding Weebly... And I will! But I have finally posted the photos from my travels in Sweden and Copenhagen. You can find them under the Urban Countryside and the City Landscape pages. Enjoy!

As of tomorrow I will be on a one week long tour. First stop is Berlin where I will stay for a couple of nights. Then one night each in Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. Some of you may already know why I'm on this tour and others may be able to guess but yes, not only is Pearl Jam touring Europe but also The Afghan Whigs. This means I will go to four concerts in five days and in four cities, a pretty hectic schedule but I'm convinced it will be an awesome week. I will be taking the big camera with me to Berlin but for the other cities the little one will have to do. To hold you over I have uploaded some of the photos I took during the weekend at the Urban Countryside page. I hope you will enjoy them. Have a great week, see you next Wednesday! As of today I've got four more days of work before I go on a five week summer vacation and I can hardly wait. Berlin, Oslo, Copenhagen and Dalarna are some of the places I'll visit with my cameras so I'm hoping I will have a lot of photo to post this Summer. As for now I've posted photos I took last weekend of a burnt-out moped I happened to pass on a walk to the forest. When I stumble upon things like this my mind instinctively searches for the story behind it, I guess that's the story-telling side of me taking over, and then I grab my camera and try to capture the result. I still hope there's a story lurking in my photos though. You'll find the photos at the Urban Countryside page. Until the next time I post, have a great Summer! This is another of those photos that I feel lucky and proud to say is mine. But in this case though not all credit can be given to me. I was visiting Copenhagen for a concert and while there I met up with my dear friend P who I have been friends with for longer than anyone of us are willing to admit. She moved to Copenhagen some years ago and every time I go there I try to meet with up with her. This time we figured we would see some sights and one of those sights was the Round Tower, an astronomical observatory from 1635 which nowadays serves as an observation tower, a public astronomical observatory, an exhibition and concert venue and a historical monument. The building itself was basically calling out to be photographed, with its spiral ramp instead of the expected staircase with nooks and crannies along the way and splendid views of the city once at the top. However, after climbing the ramp we needed to visit the restrooms and while waiting in line we spotted this glass wall showing a storage space behind it with lots of interesting pieces from the tower's history. My eyes went to the rocking chair illuminated by the sun shining through one of the tall, narrow windows and thought I saw it move, just a little. Having bad experiences with taking photos through windows I still wanted to capture this and tried my best to avoid the glares and reflections you usually get. When I came back home I went through the many photos I had taken during my weekend in Copenhagen and although many of them had turned out great, this one had me caught. I found myself staring at it, waiting for the chair to move, which it did as soon as I turned my focus away from it. Finally I ordered a big copy of the photo, framed it and it is now hanging on my bedroom wall reminding me of a great weekend in Copenhagen and that not everything beautiful is put out on display. |
